God Love 'em, what would we do without 'em

God love ‘em, what would we do without ‘em I have heard several comments about my column, saying that there is some suspicion about me being a borderline womens liber, that I write only about the kids and girlie stuff. This being the case. I have decided to write a column about MEN. I want to make it very clear that everything I say here is fiction, drawn from my wild imagination, and any similarity to any man or husband in the world is purely coincidental.

Summer is Who's Piece of Cake

Summer is who’s Even though summer doesn’t officially begin until June 21st, summer seems to be in full swing around the Massey house. It has been so hectic in the past two weeks that I haven’t figured out if I am coming or going. If the pace of summer continues after the 21st like it has been in the last couple of weeks, I will have to find a nice quiet air conditioned retirement home to rest my weary middle aged bones.

What is NASA's phone number?

A couple of months ago. I wrote a column titled, “City girl turns critter sitter”. In this column. I told about the perils of city folks who move to the quiet solitude of the country. How before they know it, their quiet country existence is over run by critters and the problems that critters create. This past week was very dull as far as getting material for this column was concerned.

God Love 'em, what would we do without 'em. Part 2

Men, God love ‘em, are very observant, especially when it comes to a womans wardrobe. They always notice what she is wearing. For instance, you can dress up from head to foot with new clothes (with the tags still on the sleeve) and they look at you like they have seen you that way so many times, that they don’t have to say anything. Then you go to the closet and squeeze into clothes that have bee in hanging there since you were a teenager, dust on the shoulders and all, and they ask.

Head 'em Back North

In the past this column has been about critters, from my experiences of chasing critters down a muddy road with the rain pouring down on my head to my experience of getting the romantic gift of a goose for Valentine’s Day. In the past I have told you about the dogs, sheep, horse, geese, ducks and rabbits that live on our acreage. Believe it or not, we have some other critters that I haven’t told you about.

It has been said that Scarlett O'Hara was One.

In the name of fair play. I had decided to do a column about women this week. I thought after my two-part series about men, it was time to give women equal rights, as far as this column is concerned. When I mentioned my intentions to the women I know, it was met with the same reaction… “How can you write a column about unusual personality traits of women? We are all perfect!

Summer is here - let's have a Reunion

Seems like just about everybody likes to attend reunions, especially High School reunions. We all know why we have reunions and why we all like to attend these big get-togethers, we all know it’s because we want to prove to all the “kids” that we went to school with 10, 20 or 30 years ago, that we look younger than they do. Have you noticed that at these reunions everyone looks like a stranger and is required to wear a name tag?

In Search of Somethin' for Nothin'

Seems most of us have a little of somethin’ for nothin’ in us. If it’s not for nothin’, it’s for very little. Just think for only one dollar you might win millions, for a 20c stamp you might win the grand prize and just for filling out an entry blank (no purchase necessary) you could fly off to some gorgeous, exotic place in the sun. I’m talking about all the games of chance that follow us everywhere.
